Longwood Gardens

Friday, August 30, 2013

Last weekend, we bought a Groupon for Longwood Gardens and spent the afternoon and evening up in Pennsylvania enjoying all that the gorgeous grounds had to offer.

Everyone that had told me about Longwood had raved about it, so I was so excited to explore.

I seriously wish we could live there, the place is so incredible! We had one of the most beautiful Friday night dates walking through the rows and rows of incredible flowers, gardens full of fountains, forests of exotic and native plants and trees, the treehouse, the Conservatory - we hit it all! We even stayed after it got dark to see the fountains all lit up for their weekend show. We got a seat above the gardens and watched as the whole place came to life to the sounds of Tchaikovsky. It was breathtaking.

If you are in the area and looking for a place to spend a few hours or even a whole day, I highly recommend Longwood. There is so much to explore and they even have a restaurant!

Mike and I are planning a trip back this winter to see it decorated for Christmas. I honestly think I want to try to make a trip up during each season to see how it changes and what is in bloom throughout the year!

It's that time again...

Yep, it's time for another challenge!

Jenni from SOML is hosting another link up during the month of September and I am so excited to participate!

This time though, she's giving us weekends off and we don't start until after labor day... THANK THE LORD.

It was really tough to blog every single day during her challenge in May so I think it will be nice to be able to still get the creative juices flowing without feeling like I'm back in school with homework every night.

She's already posted the topics so I am trying to do a little planning ahead. If you're interested, you can find out more about the challenge on her blog.

Happy Tuesday!

Anniversary Photos!

Monday, August 26, 2013

It's crazy to think that our 1-year anniversary is only a few weeks away! I have been getting so excited over the last few months as it was getting closer, not only because I am excited to celebrate but also because I knew that we would be soon meeting up with our amazing photographer Natalie for our anniversary photos.

As you may have read in this post we had planned to do a little camping trip to celebrate our upcoming anniversary so we thought doing some camping inspired photos would be a ton of fun. We met up with Natalie on Thursday evening in Patapsco State Park and our time with her was nothing short of incredible.

The evening was gorgeous and we talked and laughed the whole way through while exploring and hiking around the park.

Natalie was such a trooper, trekking through the woods, water, rocks and bugs just to get the perfect shots. It just goes to show that she will truly do anything for her clients!

We absolutely love every photo she has taken for us thus far and are so excited to continue to build our friendship with her throughout our lives as our family grows.

We will cherish these gorgeous photos for years to come and I hope you enjoy them as much as we do! (I also highly recommed checking out Natalie's blog post here. Not only is she an incredible talented photographer, but the girl has such a gift with words!)
